IMI will be delivering two courses for credit at World of Concrete:

Troubleshooting Masonry: Beyond the Details: 3 LUs
Learn to analyze a variety of conditions found in typical masonry wall systems of the brick and block cavity calls, brick veneer/steel stud wall. How to diagnose the underlying cause of masonry problems and cure the cause. Discussions will go beyond the details, simultaneously exploring conditions through construction site photo's, failure analyses, building code requirements and best practice recommendations. Issues addressed will include water penetration, masonry cracking, stains, spalling, detail issues and common jobsite mistakes.

10 Common Masonry Mistakes and How to Avoid Them: 1.5 LUs
This session will use case studies to highlight 10 often made masonry construction and design mistakes. Topics include new material understanding, moisture and movement issues, field testing, supervisory methods and constructability. Cavity wall construction will be used as the wall system for all discussions. Masonry materials will include brick, block, AAC, mortar, grout and plaster coatings.
