New Masonry Design Options

New software and seminars on hybrid masonry/steel and loadbearing masonry are giving designers more options and making masonry easier than ever to use.

The innovative structural masonry design software collaboratively developed by IMI, the National Concrete Masonry Association, Bentley Systems, and Ryan Biggs Associates offers a “whole building” approach that can dramatically reduce design time.

To make it even easier for designers, the groups launched a national seminar series. The seminars, which offer professional education credits, cover theory and design of hybrid masonry/steel structures and whole building analysis of loadbearing masonry, along with tips on using the new software.
