01.030.0311: Base of Wall Detail - Metal Flashing, Drip Edge, Term Bar, MDCD

DESCRIPTION / NARRATIVE

Details 01.030.0311 & 0312 and 01.030.0311.2D & 0312.2D (Metal Flashing, Termination Bar / Receiver, MDCD):

This detail is similar to 01.030.302, but with sheet metal flashing. A compatible metal or plastic termination bar must be used. It is essential to seal the top edge of the metal flashing to the wall as shown in Figures 5 & 6. Metal flashing can be installed in one piece with the drip edge prefabricated at the end or in two pieces similar to 01.030.0302 or 01.0300312. Two piece systems allow for adjustments from normal construction tolerances. Metal flashing can also be installed in the CMU bed joint as shown in 01.030.0305 and 01.030.0306.
